This Privacy Policy explains how Octane Solution Group, LLC ("Octane," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information through our websites, platform, and text messaging program. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Handle
- Contact information such as name, mobile phone number, and email address;
- Appointment, prescription, and account information that a healthcare practice that uses our platform ("Practice") provides so that we can send reminders, forms, and notices;
- Message records such as the content, time, and delivery status of text messages, and your opt-in and opt-out choices;
- Website and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
When we handle health information for a Practice, we act as its business associate and follow HIPAA and our agreements with that Practice. The Practice's own notice of privacy practices also applies.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to deliver the services the Practice requested (including appointment reminders, forms, surveys, refill reminders, and security codes), to honor opt-out requests, to provide support, to secure and improve the platform, and to comply with law. We do not use your information for third-party marketing.
3. Mobile Information and Text Messaging
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, text message opt-in data, or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information is shared only with service providers who help us deliver messages (such as our messaging provider, Twilio Inc., and mobile carriers), subject to confidentiality obligations, and with the Practice you receive care from. The text message opt-in process and how to opt out (reply STOP) or get help (reply HELP) are described in section 1 of the Terms of Service.
4. When We Disclose Information
We disclose information to the Practice it relates to, to service providers acting for us, as required by law or legal process, to protect rights, safety, and security, and in a merger or sale of the business, where the successor is bound to protect the information. We do not sell personal information.
5. Security and Retention
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption and access controls, appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No system is perfectly secure. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the services for the Practice and to meet legal and contractual retention requirements.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. You may request access to or correction of your information by contacting your Practice, which controls your health records, or by contacting us at the address below. Your rights may vary by law and by the state in which you live.
7. Children
Our websites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information outside of a Practice's care relationship with a parent or guardian.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
